Capture memories to treasure forever!
The thrill of capturing the perfect photograph, from the opportunistic lucky snap to the carefully composed shot that took hours, or even days of preparation, is something that we have all experienced at some point. Through our Photographic Experience courses we hope to give our visitors the opportunity of learning, improving or simply enjoying this vibrant art form in the beautiful surrounds of the Irwell Valley.
Suitable for photographers of all abilities, from complete beginners to veterans, courses are closely led by expert tutors from our partners at North West Photography Courses. Make use of as much or as little support as you need to make the most out of your day with us.
- Morning debriefing on the Platform, including a safety briefing and some basic hands on tuition tailored to the needs and ambitions of each attendee.
- A light lunch provided during the day.
- A heritage steam or diesel train ride for location shots where the focus will be photography of the trains, architecture and the local flora and fauna.
- Train ride back to Bury for a unique behind the scenes visit to the locomotive sheds where you will have the opportunity to get up close to the engines and see the ongoing work needed to repair and maintain them.
