Day of the DMU
Join the East Lancashire Railway and the Bury unit team as we celebrate the launch into service of the Cravens class 105 unit at a special DMU gala!
Following an extensive 21 year restoration, the Cravens class 105 unit will be running in passenger service for the first time, and visitors will be able to ride and take away a commemorative certificate. Other exciting attractions will include the first visit away from its home base of Llangollen Railway the now unique Wickham built class 109 unit, following its own 10 year restoration, and the first runs of the ELT based BRCW built class 104 & class 110 units following their extensive bodywork restoration and subsequent repainting. The weekend will also probably be the last run before its departure from the ELR of the Pressed Steel built class 117 unit, which has been based here for the past few years.
