Once upon a time…


The magical gems of Storybook Land have been stolen by a maurading gang of maleficent malcontents, and your favourite fairy-tale characters need you to join the quest to get them back. Can you learn the knightly know how and the prized princess skills you need to rescue everyone's happily ever afters!

This intreractive adventure will see you and your family join colourful characters on a steam train ride, during which you will take part in a host of entertaining activities to complete the story.

What’s Included

  • One return trip from Bury to Rawtenstall hauled by a royally restored heritage steam train.
  • A two-hour fairy-tale experience with the East Lancashire Railway's most noble lords and ladies
  • Princess themed activities
  • Plenty of photo opportunities

Food and drink will be available to purchase from our café on Platform 3/4 at Bury Bolton Street Station and from our on-train buffet.

Dates, times and tickets

Duration: 2 - 2 1/2 hours

Recommended Age: Families with children aged 5 years and over.

The morning event will begin promptly at 10:00am and finishes at approximately 12:00pm. The afternoon event will begin promptly at 12:45pm and finish at approximately 3:00pm.
