Ramsbottom World Black Pudding Throwing Championships

This event has no upcoming dates

    Black Pudding Throwing

The ancient grudge between Lancashire and Yorkshire takes on a decidedly delicious twist as prospective chucking champions hurl black puddings at a heap of Yorkshire Puddings.

Competitors get three turns to try and knock as many of the enemy puddings as possible. This clash of the titans dates back to the 1980s, but the rivalry stretches back through history to the War of the Roses, where the two opposing sides apparently resorted to throwing food at one another once the ammunition ran out. Enjoy a lively fun atmosphere and plenty of puds.

The East Lancashire Railway will be running standard fares and timetables. For more information visit our Timetables and Fares page.
