I want to ride my bicycle!

Put the pedal to the metal! The East Lancashire Railway is proud to be part of the route for Britain's most prestigious cycle race!

    What’s included?

The Tour of Britain will be coming to Ramsbottom! Wave the flag for your favourite cyclist as they pass over our crossing on Bridge Street during Stage 8 - the final stage - of the celebrated contest. The competitors will speed down Peel Brow and pass over our Bridge Street crossing between 1:15pm - 1:45pm before the acclaimed ascent up The Rake!

Ramsbottom Station will be decorated with Union Jack flags and red, white and blue bunting and our steam train will be proudly on display in the station from 12:45pm - 1:40pm. There will also be entertainment from Ramsbottom Learning Centre’s sax and rock bands (timings to be announced).

Why not let our train take the strain and travel to the race in style? We're running both steam and diesel train all day and our services will drop you off in the centre of Ramsbottom - in the thick of all the action!
