Whether you choose a lovingly restored steam train from the golden age of British industry or a powerhouse of a diesel locomotive you are sure to leave a lasting impression on your party. You can customise the experience however you see fit to suit the specific needs of your group. Want to take the driving seat as part of a team building exercise, travel only certain sections of the line, or incorporate a dining experience, a buffet on the Observation Saloon or a Rail Ale Trail? Dining Train

Get a taste for the elegance and glamour of high dining on a luxury train service. A host of options are available; bond as a team or as a family as you deduce the truth on an entertaining Murder Mystery evening, enjoy a working lunch or a break from shopping in bustling Bury on a sophisticated Afternoon Tea, celebrate a special date or corporate success with a luxury Red Rose Diner, whatever the occasion we have something for every palette!

Dining carriages can seat up to 96 people and depending on the menu and theme chosen prices can range from £24 per person to £74.95. Special dietary requirements can be catered for and the dining experience can be combined with other offers to make a day of it.

Observation Saloon

The lovingly restored 1920s Observation Saloon embodies the nostalgia and glamour of the golden age of railway travel. Fully carpeted and outfitted with sublime wooden panelling throughout, the saloon can seat up to 25 people and is the perfect way to make an impression during a corporate get together or a personal party!

The saloon costs £495 for the day, including travel for up to 25 guests, tea, coffee and a dedicated member of staff to look after your party. You can then include drinks and a buffet, or even a Cream Tea, to complete the experience. The coach itself is split into two compartments with a small kitchen, bathroom and a guards compartment situated in between. It can be coupled to the Steam Service of the day offering up to three round trips of the line. It is possible to board at any station your group chooses, subject to the running timetable.

Bury Transport Museum and Meeting Room

Wow colleagues, friends and family alike by selecting a venue with a difference. Bury Transport Museum features a modern and intimate meeting room which offers fantastic views over the main hall, overlooking an incredible collection of original artefacts and interactive exhibits.

The conference room is ideal for small to medium sized groups and your event can even be combined with a private tour around the museum or a ride on the East Lancashire Railway. Room hire can accommodate a host of add-ons; lunch can be arranged, so why not combine your function with a Dining Experience, Drive a Train course or one of the other options to make your day out one to remember.
