Start a Love Train!

Valentine’s Day has its origins with St Valentine of Ancient Rome, who was persecuted for marrying soldiers who, at the time, were forbidden to marry. How we got from there to cherubs, love hearts and boxes of chocolates is anybody’s guess but the time is almost upon us again!

Now don’t panic, you won’t have to go to the same lengths as the ancient Roman romancer to impress the love of your life. The East Lancashire Railway has a bouquet of brilliant date ideas and gift suggestions to woo and wow your beloved this Valentine’s Day.

Beauty and the Feast… On an ELR Dining Train

The steaming station, the softly lit dining carriage and the gentle rocking of a train in motion, there is just something incomparably romantic about a first class meal on a dining train. Relax on board a decadently turned out dining carriage and indulge in a superb meal whilst the attentive waiting staff cater to your every whim. There are a host of different experiences available, from intimate evening meals for two to relaxed afternoon teas.
