  • Santa Specials

    Christmas has come a little early for those who have not yet purchased their Santa Special tickets. Over 50 seats have become available on the 13:40 train on Saturday 1 December.

    Take a steam train ride with Santa and his crew of happy helpers as they hand gifts out to the children, enjoy a biscuit and juice drink or a mince pie and festive tipple as you soak in the Christmassy atmosphere and finish things off with a Christmas treasure hunt at Bury Transport Museum!

    Tickets for 1 December cost £17.50 per Adult, £14.50 per child and £27.50 for an Adult with Under 3.

  • Lancashire Weekend

    It’s all things Lancashire at this special themed weekend celebrating the historic day when the county sent its very first representatives to parliament. The event will play host to a variety of fun and folksy events from the announcements of a traditional Town Crier and Morris Dancing to proper Lancastrian grub and local liquid refreshments.

    Make sure you show your love for Lancashire! For every two passengers wearing a red rose one passenger pays the full line adult fare and the second travels for free. Red roses will be on sale in our own Bury Booking Office shop.

    Our popular Santa Special trains have surpassed all expectations and have now reached nearly 90% occupancy! Don’t miss out on this fantastic festive experience that has become an annual tradition for many

    • Take a steam train ride to Rawtenstall and back through the Irwell Valley
    • Immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere provided by a traditional brass band and carol singing
    • Admire the beautifully decorated Bury Bolton Street Station
    • Say hello to costumed characters and be amazed by the on board magician
    • Meet Santa and his elves as they travel through the train giving a gift to each child
    • Each child will also receive a biscuit and juice drink whilst adults will receive a mince pie and festive tipple
    • Hunt for hidden clues in Bury Transport Museum with the Great Christmas Treasure Hunt
