  • 1940s Weekend

    Get your dancing shoes on and unpack your best polka dot dress, the East Lancashire Railway’s all singing, all dancing vintage extravaganza is back!

    Various 1940s themed events and re-enactments will be taking place at all of our stations along the 12-mile line, including battle re-enactments, ENSA entertainers and more. Enjoy returning favourites like Paul Harper and Don Gentile alongside brand new acts like The Victory Sisters!

  • Wizard Adventure

    Join the madcap mages of the East Lancashire Railway for the first day of term at the Wizard Academy. During your adventure you will work on your wand waving, brush up on your broomstick skills, practice your potions and learn how to make an owl give a hoot! Just make sure you keep your eyes open for the wicked warlocks who are trying to spoil the fun.

    This interactive experience will see you and your family join a cast of colourful characters on a steam train ride, during which you will complete a variety of entertaining activities and finish the story.

    Tickets cost £15 per adult and £10.50 per child.

  • Dinosaur

    Get your teeth into this Jurassic lark as you join an eccentric expedition on a time travelling steam train to meet with a herd of adorable baby dinos. Get up close to these cute cretaceous critters and maybe even tickle a triceratops or stroke a stegosaurus.

    The adventure includes:

    • One return trip from Bury to Rawtenstall hauled by a royally restored heritage steam train
    • As approximately two-hour dinosaur experience with the East Lancashire Railway’s expert rex wranglers and triceratops tamers
    • Dinosaur themed activities
    • Plenty of photo opportunities
