  • Important Notice

Following some much needed heavy rainfall overnight, and the adoption of ashpan guards to some engines, we are delighted to announce that steam services have been re-instated for this coming weekend, as per the below:

    Saturday:

    • 9:30am departure to Rawtenstall will be diesel hauled by Class 40 for the first trip and will then be steam hauled by 6990 ‘Witherslack Hall’ from the 11:50am departure to Rawtenstall for the rest of the day.
    • All other services will be diesel hauled.
    • The Murder Mystery Night diner will be steam hauled by 6990 ‘Witherslack Hall’.

    Sunday:

    • 9:30am departure to Heywood will be diesel hauled by Class 37 109.
    • 9:30am departure to Rawtenstall will be steam hauled by 6990 ‘Witherslack Hall’
    • The Lancastrian Lunch diner will be steam hauled by GWR 813 Saddle Tank.

We are taking great care and caution during the reintroduction of steam, so please note that the above may change without prior warning.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.

  • Due to the high level of fire risk, all services from Sunday 1st July will be diesel hauled until further notice.

Our teams will be working hard to ensure a steam service returns as soon as possible.

We apologise for any disappointment this may cause, however safety must come first.

    Thank your for your understanding.
