People Wearing Kilts Travel for Free on Flying Scotsman this Friday*
*People wearing tartan kilts travel for free on Flying Scotsman this Friday (24 August 2018).This promotion applies to the first 100 people that arrive at the East Lancashire Railway’s Bury Bolton Street Station (Bolton Street, Bury BL9 0EY) wearing a tartan kilt and will provide successful attendees with a return train ride behind Flying Scotsman on the 10:30am Bury to Heywood service, as well as unlimited travel on other steam and diesel services throughout the day. The tickets are for the specific date and time and cannot be exchanged or refunded. The promotion only applies to those wearing tartan kilts, not the entire party. Once the first 100 people have obtained the offer the promotion will be terminated. East Lancashire Railway Ts and Cs apply.
Card holding members of the Ramblers' Association may travel at Concessionary fares. While such members are likely to purchase single tickets, all concessionary fares are available to them should they wish. Concessionary fares are available every weekend except Day Out With Thomas.
On production of a valid CSMA Membership Card a two-for-one discount will be available when purchasing adult Freedom of the Line tickets. This discount is not available on special event days.
Any full-time student who wishes to travel on the East Lancashire Railway and is able to produce suitable full-time student identification can travel at concessionary rates regardless of age. Any suitable ID is acceptable, for example: NUS Card, College ID etc.
Carvan and Motorhome Club
Members of the Caravan and Motorhome club can receive two for one travel. One person travels free when accompanied by a "Freedom of the Line" Adult ticket holder. Not valid on event days. Tickets must be used at the same time, lowest priced ticket is free. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
