(Does not include travel behind Flying Scotsman)

Introduce a whole new generation to the legend that is the Flying Scotsman! This educational experience is tailor made for school groups. Your class will explore the history and design of this legendary locomotive.

A classroom session will allow pupils to apply their knowledge of distance, speed and time calculations to the engine’s record-breaking achievements, extend this information to the speeds and journeys of the rest of the ELR fleet and plot the data on graphs before analysing their findings.

Thus prepared, the class will then attempt to build and run their own locomotive in teams, applying their knowledge of speed and time.

Each experience also includes a lunch break and the option to include a drawstring goodie bag including an ELR branded pencil, rubber, sharpener, bookmark and a bottle of water. These bags are retailed at £10 per person, but offered at £5 per person for this experience.

£11.50 per pupil
