Join us for the Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival Celebrations!
Saturday 31 March – Sunday 1 April 2012
The Chocolate Festival returns to Ramsbottom (and the East Lancashire Railway) once again with a two-day programme of chocolate fun and indulgence! Visit the official Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival website for information about the event programme.
Held over two days, the Festival features a huge choice of things to see and get involved in including the chocolate market, kids activities and Al Fresco dining area as well as new additions such as the chill out teepee and chocolate sculpture making by UK Chocolate Champion John Costello.
We have teamed up with the team behind the Festival to offer you some steam-powered highlights!
Chocolate Rail Ale Tour
Saturday 31 March, 12 – 4pm
We have put a twist on our ever popular Ramsbottom Rail Ale Trail and come up with a tour that celebrates two of mankind’s greatest accomplishments: beer and chocolate.
The 4-hour tour will be led by a qualified Green Badge Tour Guide who will not only show you some of the best kept pubs and brewing secrets of the area but also entertain you with historical accounts and hilarious stories of people and places.
The tour costs £21.50 per person and also includes a free bottle of ale, chocolate ale sampling at the Chocolate Festival and a full line return ticket so make sure you enjoy another steam train ride up to Rawtenstall or Heywood after the tour finishes! Places are limited and pre-booking is essential, so please book early.
We are also offering some exciting activities for our little passengers to make sure they travel to the Chocolate Festival in style:
