Have you ever dreamed of working alongside Thomas the Tank Engine, giving people a good scare on Halloween or helping Santa make Christmas magic for families across the North-West? This opportunity could be just what you’re looking for!

Volunteering in the Event, Catering and Retail department is never boring. One day you might be serving cream tea on board an elegantly appointed first-class carriage; the next, you’ll be making people jump out of their skin while dressed as a skeleton on board the Halloween Ghost Train.

There are opportunities to suit a wide range of interests. The ELR will help match volunteers with roles that suit their inclination and experience, and full training will be provided,

If you’ve ever thought about volunteering at the ELR but felt unsure, or wondered whether you have the right experience, please come along to our Open Day.

This will be the perfect opportunity for prospective volunteers to meet the different teams, learn more about the roles available across the department and get an insight into what is involved before committing.

The Open Day takes place at the Trackside Bar, Bury Bolton Street Station, from 10:00am – 3:00pm. No previous experience is needed.
